The Sanford Health Athletic Complex is the epicenter of North Dakota State Athletics. Not only is it the home for the basketball and wrestling teams, it’s where the locker rooms reside for every single sport, with the exception of the football and volleyball teams. The three-level venue is packed with everything athletes, coaches and administrators could want. From the weight rooms to study rooms, the SHAC has everything NDSU needs to be a successful Division I program.
“What does this facility mean for Bison Athletics moving forward? For me, it’s one word — transformational. Transformational for our student-athletes, the ability to train, compete and learn in a world-class facility. Transformational for our coaches. The ability to educate, mentor and coach our student-athletes in this facility.” – Matt Larsen, Director of Athletics
Don’t Cha Know?
$50,000,000 – NDSU raised $50 million for the Sanford Health Athletic Complex. Not one dollar came from Fargo or taxpayers, student tuition or the state.
Jim Kramer and his staff etched out their own layout for the weight room, located on the first floor of the far west side of the SHAC.
The Nodak Insurance Basketball Performance Center opened a year before the SHAC was complete and has six basketball hoops.
The wrestling room is located where it always was inside the BSA. Improvements were made to ensure better airflow and advancements were made to the locker room.
