As one of the loudest and most enthusiastic pair of voices in the Thundering Herd, this match made in fan history had their first date at a football game in the Fargodome. Together, they’ve reared their love for NDSU Athletics together next to fans turned life-long friends.
Majoring in animal science and agricultural education at NDSU, Brooke Thiel teaches agriculture science in Kindred, North Dakota. As a self-proclaimed diehard Bison, this 2013 NDSU graduate is expanding her fan family from the same section where she had her first date with husband Pat.
“It’s something that Fargo can come together behind, and not just Fargo either, the entire state of North Dakota. A lot of our friends are fans, people I graduated with, it’s like a homecoming all the time when you go to Frisco, a football game, or any tailgating.” – Brooke Thiel
Also pursuing a career in teaching after graduating in 2009, Pat Thiel is the band director at Carl Ben Eielson Middle School in Fargo. After playing football in high school, he stepped onto the turf as a member of the Gold Star Marching Band in college, further developing his devotion to the talents of Bison athletics.
“Now that the work has been put in place and you have this system, it’s a lot of fun. It’s fun to watch good football and football being played the right way.” – Pat Thiel
