Bison Media Guide: Forum Communications

The FM area would be far less informed about NDSU athletics without the people who cover the Bison on radio, TV or print, like Forum Communications.

All of us purvey the furthest regions for the latest information about NDSU athletics. Some of us go to social media, others turn on the television or the radio and some may even open up the newspaper. Regardless of your medium, we all see the same familiar faces when searching out the latest Bison news. So, we thought it would be nice to bring attention to the hard work these recognizable figures bring to our community. Without them, how would we stay up to date with our favorite school? The fact of the matter is that the Fargo-Moorhead area would be far less informed about NDSU athletics without these people. That is why we pieced together the Bison Media Guide.

How has NDSU athletics become so successful?
“First and foremost, without the funding and support, no way does the athletic department come close to the Division I success that nobody thought possible. With funding, you can recruit, build and manage facilities and hire the right coaches.”

In your opinion, how has North Dakota State athletics become so successful?
“Fundraising and recruiting. NDSU’s fundraisers have done a tremendous job in raising money to provide the student-athletes with some top notch mid-major facilities. Recruiting is the other piece, as Bison coaches have been able to find overlooked athletes in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, along with North Dakota to surge quicker than anyone thought in Division 1.”

In your years covering North Dakota State, what has been your fondest memory?
“The 2016 NFL Draft. Being in Chicago to hear North Dakota State with the second overall selection in the NFL Draft is something that not even the biggest Bison fan could even dream about.”

What does covering the Bison mean to you?
“It means a lot to me. NDSU athletics is one of the biggest stories we cover, so to know people look to me and WDAY for the latest information and unique content that no else is providing is important. We’ve done a lot of things that people are now doing, and that makes me smile.”
