Coming Out Party

Sam Griesel was absolutely electric. In just his second game in the Summit League tournament, “Sammy Hoops”, a true freshman put North Dakota State on his back. Griesel scored a team-high 20 points on 8-12 shooting and grabbed five key rebounds. His two second-half three-pointers came in incredibly key moments. He also made the game-saving defensive play with his last-second shot contest on Kobe Webster. Griesel noted a season-long struggle for confidence. His teammates, for the life of them, can’t figure it out.

Sioux Falls Dave

In his fifth year as the head coach of the Bison, David Richman sports an extremely impressive 8-3 record at the Summit League tournament. This year’s version of the Bison was picked 5th in the league, and after a 1-7 start, that didn’t seem so out of hand. They picked themselves up, finished the Summit season 9-7 and after their two Summit League Tournament victories, have secured a winning record for the season overall. These “underdog” Bison are now headed to the ‘Ship.

Kobe Webster is good.
